The technology is based on the Magnus Effect, which describes the phenomenon of how lift is created when fluid moves past a rotating cylinder. eGen has been able to convert this lift into force, capturing the force and converting it into electrical energy.

The system can be modified to produce hydrogen from water and then convert the hydrogen into electrical energy.

Technology
eGen’s competitive advantage is fueled through it’s unique ability to operate across a wide range of water flow conditions. Based on the Magnus effect, eGen can harvest more energy at lower flows than traditional turbine blade solutions of equal size. Further advancements with patent pending microfin and dual rotor technology will increase the lift efficiency further.

The patent pending eGen technology generates 10 times the lift as a hydrofoil or airfoil with similar cross section.
